INTERIORS
The state wildflower, the Gaillardia, is the central theme for the colors of the dome's interior. The Indian Blanket, its common name, appears draped over the inner dome with a deep red brown center, sunset red pedal tones in the encircling coffers, and finally yellow tips which are depicted by gold leafed recessed panels. The Gaillardia sits on a field of green representing the stems of the flowers set in Oklahoma prairie landscapes. A lower drum of blue symbolizing the vibrant Oklahoma sky is accented with bands of gold punctuated by darker reds, blues, and greens depicting Indian beadery.

New Stained Glass Detail
The new canopy over the opening (oculus) in the upper dome will be stained glass artwork which replicates key elements of the historic stained glass work previously located in the saucer dome.

The new stained glass will be 21'-4" in diameter and contains a replication of the State Seal in the center which will also be made out of stained glass.

The colored glass will be produced by Triffo's GlassArts, the same glass company who produced the original stained glass at the Capitol. The stained glass will be back-lit with accent lighting to enhance the variety of colors of stained glass being used.
