A powerful, inspirational show entitled The Spirit of a New
Frontier!, produced by Oklahoma-based Six Flags along with
Oklahoma Country Music Star Vince Gill serving as Master of
Ceremonies, staged a rousing dedication ceremony of the new
Oklahoma State Capitol Dome on Statehood Day, November 16, 2002.
The most spectacular display of fireworks ever seen in Oklahoma,
a magnificent laser light show and other surprises
illuminated the Oklahoma evening sky to honor completion of the
Capitol Dome. The Spirit of a New Frontier program was televised
live statewide on OETA-TV.
Two-time winner of Country Music Association's Entertainer of
the Year Award, Vince Gill was joined on stage by his wife,
four-time winner of Gospel Music Association's Artist of the
Year Award Amy Grant, as well as other special performers.
Selections from Broadway musicals The Music Man was performed by
cast members of the national touring company, plus Will Rogers
Follies, and of course, Oklahoma! |
